thank you for joining us at artwalk freo 2019!
we'll see you in 2021!
You're invited to join us for Artwalk Freo 2019. Come hail or shine this June, an independent group of professional artists from different disciplines will come together for one weekend only to open their home studios to the public for the fourth biennial Artwalk Freo.
If you have ever wondered HOW a highly creative person thinks, WHAT triggers their inspiration, WHERE the drive comes from, WHY they chose their particular discipline, then come see where the magic happens on the weekend of the 15-16 June. AWF2019 should be #1 on your to-do list!
This year's hosts are fashion designer and artist Megan Salmon, ceramic artist Pippin Drysdale, painter and sculptor Michael Knight and painter, arts educator and musician Ian de Souza. Guests artists include ceramic artist Annemieke Mulders, painter and printmaker Harvey Mullen, writer, journalist and photographer Tom de Souza and emerging neon artist George Howlett with George Aitken. Visiting the studios and experiencing how a living space relates to an art practice offers insight into the creative process.
Artwalk Freo celebrates it's 4th event in 2019 and this year we have made a few changes. A one-off $10 entry fee for adults allows access to all studios during the weekend. Children under 18 free. Book now via Eventbrite to secure your place! Credit card and cash payments will also be accepted at the point of entry studio all weekend. All monies from door sales will fund future Artwalk Freo events and complementary arts events designed to engage and inform the public.
Refreshments and other treats can be purchased and enjoyed at Studio 4, courtesy of Fremantle community groups. Other points of interest and pit stops along the way are listed on the AWF2019 map.
